The Historical Museum of Crete (HMC) was founded in 1953, charged with recording, preserving, documenting and promoting all forms of material evidence of Cretan history (artefacts, archive material, etc.). HMC’s activities include designing and holding permanent and temporary exhibitions; running educational programs; organizing scholarly / cultural activities (lectures, film shows); collecting, recording and digitizing archive material. The continuous enrichment of the IMK Collections with new items (objects and archival material) coming from donations, purchases, etc., makes the digital platform of the Invisible Museum as a multiplier of the Museum’s exhibition environment particularly attractive. With this perspective, IMK participates in this program as a partner of Noveltech. The scientific staff of IMK will cooperate with the contributors of the program both in the level of the platform design and in that of the disposal of the necessary material for the implementation of the program from the collections and the archives of the Museum.
